Help SMS texting problem

Hello all! I have a problem with my galaxy note 2. Previously, I had a galaxy S II and when i texted someone and they texted back the messages were staggered like a chat window. However, With the galaxy note 2 it moves all my messages to the top and the person im texting messages to the bottom...it makes it incredibly hard to look back at conversations...is there a way to fix this?

That's odd. All my text messages are staggered. Have you gone through the settings (in the Samsung text messaging program)?

Messaging - Menu - Settings - (Scroll down) Make sure AUTO COMBINATION is checked.
(this is the only thing I could think that may be separating your text)

What version do you have. I'm thinking these are some of the variations we'll see between all the G-Note 2's. I received my international version today and after booting it up, I did notice slight differences, but nothing major.

What version and/or provider do you have?
 
Not sure if this is the same problem i was having with my Galaxy S3 but if it is, Your out of luck with finding a fix. When i would be texting someone, all of there replies would show ABOVE mine.. meaning i had to scroll up past my message to see there new message.. it was a pain.. I swapped sims ( AT&T ) and that did nothing.. I used a 3rd party text app and that was OK but i hated using a 3rd party app.

One night i decided to do a hard reset and clear out the whole phone to how it was on day 1 and reinstall all my apps, etc, etc.. and that did the trick. My guess is, that a app i installed somewhere down the road ( and uninstalled ) was messing with something.. because once i did a clean install, the texting issue was gone.

I have the Note 2 now and dont have the issue.
