Help SMS will not show over lock screen

I have been using Handcent and liked having my incoming texts show up over top of the lock screen. But after the 2.2 update that does not work anymore. The screen turns on but I then have to unlock it to see my new text. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Handcent with no luck. I also tried Go SMS Pro and SMS Popup, they would not display the text over the lock screen either. Is there a stock setting that needs to be changed now?

My phone is stock and unrooted.
