Help Smudges on the screen - lock screen wallpaper

Okay so for no reason whatsover that I am aware of, white smudges appeared on my lock screen wallpaper half of the right side of the screen. It only appears when the wallpaper is black. I can't post a screenshot because the swipe to take screen shot apparently stopped as well on the lock screen. HOWEVER, when viewing the home screen or any pictures with black on it, such smudges don't appear. I tried the LCD test and the screen is perfectly fine. I tried a factory reset to no avail.

So i kept on looking at the lock screen and after an hour of doing that, i tried DISABLING THE RIPPLE EFFECT and BINGGO!!!!!!!! The smudges disappeared on the lock screen.

Is this software related or hardware?

turn off the ripple effect in your lock screen settings and the "smudges" will go away...not sure what it is about the ripple effect that causes them but it will fix it...

So you encountered the same issue as well?

its not really an "issue" its just a byproduct of the ripple effect...probably a flub up somewhere in the coding...the contrast of the image is off, and there are light colored blotches on the right side of the screen when you use the ripple effect...turn it off and everything looks like your normal homescreen...

Yeah i kinda figured that out too. So at least I'm not alone. Thanks.

i have same problem. Disabling ripple effect clears lock screen but it is not an ideal solution. i love ripple effect. any other ideas for solution?
