Root Snap Shot Image

Is there a way to create a Snapshot of my current phone configuration and save it to a PB31IMG.zip file and keep it somewhere other than the root of my SDcard?

Follow the link in my previous post, it gives you a tuturial on how to make a nandroid backup. It isn't a PB31IMG file, but is an exact snapshot of your phone at the point you make it. You use clockwork recovery to make the backup and install it, if necessary.

You can store the backup wherever you want, and copy it to the SD card when you need it.

Cool.. So when my phone starts to act up I can just do a restore to that point, can I do this after I install a new app I like. I nknew there were advantages to have a "ROOTED" phone...:)

I also have "Titanium Backup Pro" to help with my Data and Contacts get backed up to my SD card as well..

Do you have a good list to get rid of all the Pre-Installed crap from Verizon, and/or HTC?

Yeah, you can restore to that point at any time.

There is a section on removing the bloat here:

But the easiest/safest way is just by using Titanium backup and "freezing" the apps you don't use.

It's best to back up your contacts to google. Just go to the people app and press the menu button. Choose export contacts to sd card, let the process finish. Then press the menu button again, and choose import contacts from SD card, after you choose, it will ask you if you want to save your contacts to google.

Thanks, this is my first phone I truly ROOTED and I don't want to screw it up, either by accident or intentional (i.e. new App), but I want to backup before I perform any risky procedure..

You definitely want to make sure you always have access to a good backup.
