Typical Play Store crap. since they added that compatibility thing, 90% of the apps listed as 'not compatible with your device' would in fact work perfectly fine if you side-loaded them. unfortunately, Play doesn't offer a 'download at your own risk' option which sucks as if it's a paid app you got somewhere at one time, such as NBA Jam from EA Games, you can't email the dev for the file as EA is a huge company, and for reasons i still as of yet fail to grasp, it is 'not compatible' with my NEXUS 10!
for a time, Google+ was listed as 'not compatible' with the Nexus 7 too. for that i found it more funny than a problem.
With Play Store version 3.10, the compatibility filter looked at the Device type and make/model in the build.prop file, editable via rooting, and you could force-install by simply changing it to a compatible device which removed the not compatible notice. but i think that stopped working more recently. i had a Kindle Fire that i rooted and tried to fake out as a Nexus 7, but Play Store still refused to allow me to download something the Nexus 7 was compatible with, apparently it was still being reported as a Kindle Fire and at the time, 90% of Play Store apps wouldn't install on the thing, as it was not even intended to function with the Play Store at the time--rooting and getting Play working was still an unapproved thing then.
