Snapdragon 615 not 617?

It's a Chinese company. I wouldn't be surprised if they used whatever was cheapest that day. It wouldn't surprise me if they were using binned chips from another assembly line either. It would explain a lot of the firmware issues.
If it were a fake Samsung or iPhone, or some other cheapo non-brand thing, yeh that's very possible. However ZTE are a reputable multinational. And here it's just that the app is simply incorrect when guessing what the processor is.

True, but this is far from a flagship phone. The specs on this thing aren't in line with other phones in the same price range.

I think the ZMax Pro is priced about right for what it is here in China, basically low to mid-range. Elsewhere and depending where you are and what's available there, I don't know. Obviously it's not a premium flagship Samsung Galaxy or Apple iPhone. [emoji14]

I'm in the U.S. It's $100 here which doesn't buy much in the relm of high end electronics. It's the burner equivilent of a Note 7 (pun intended). The iPhone and Galaxy go for $650+. The Nexus 6 is probably a better phone to compare it to, and they are twice the price of a Z981 used. Similarly priced phones don't really compete with the specs of this one.

Ordering phones from China in the same price range will get you a similar product, but they aren't sold in the stores here.
