Any of you guys with roms have any luck playing super mario RPG using SNESoid? Every other game I've tried works fine but super mario RPG won't even start up, it's just a black screen and I've tried several different roms.

There are certain games that when originally made in the cartridge format actually had an extra chip or two in the cartridge itself so that it could run. These were usually the more advanced/later SNES games. If you find an SNES emulator for windows online there is usually an extra setting for specific games for this reason.

If a game is not working on the emulator that is on the list above, the extra chip in the original cartridge version is most likely the reason.

a lot of them still have their rights... a lot don't... but think about it, on the wii they have released how many nes games? (which are really are just mostly emulated)

there is nothing illegal about downloading ROMS once the patent comes off. They no longer own the rights.... It is illegal to DL 360, ps3, ps2 and some others....
