Help So far only one negative against the iphone4

Hi all,

Loving ownership of the SGS2 so far.

Just one negative to report (based on comparison with iphone4).

The accuracy of text entry into the keyboard and the predictive text is terrible. Virtually every text or email I write i spend an eternity checking and correcting it. I did a comparison test against the iphone4. The text entry on the IP4 was accurate and extremely quick. The predictive text / correction was so much better.

If I could solve this one issue, I think the SGS2 would definitely be the iphone4 beater that we all think it is. and thats coming from a chap that has owned Apple products exclusively for many years, in fact my business has over 20 iphone4 currently on contract.. may be time to change.
 
my HTC wildfire was the same. There was a calibrate option in the settings and after that it was really good. I expect the Samsung will have a similar thing if you look for it.
 
I actually think it is better after comparing both of them! Remember the beauty of Android, if you don't like it you have the option to change it. Try looking in the market for another keyboard, i used to use Swiftkey. Takes a couple of days to get the hang of it but in the end it was spooky how quick it was
 
I've just had a go of the stock swype keyboard.. blimey, thats clever.. i may try to give this a go and see how i get on..
 
Many people find Swiftkey to be a major improvement over most stock keyboards. Personally I enjoy Better Keyboard. Either way, the point is that there are many alternatives in the market. Give them a look. Good luck and let us know what you come up with!
 
I dont have a SGSII (yet) but even on my wildfire, swiftkey does a great job! I Prefer the suggested word method a lot to the iphones often useless "auto corrections"
 
one thing i've noticed with the predictive text on the default samsung keyboard is that when i am using it to type into copilot (sat nav) it mixes up the predictive & my input together to make it unintelligible. I had to turn off the predictive text so i could use it.
