Root So here is a returning question

A friend of mine just gave me his Precedent , he told me its rooted, but it will not turn on, I've tried every way I have read about, well anyways I called straight talk and they are going to ship me another one as a replacement, now is there any way they can tell it's rooted since you can't turn it on?

I doubt it. Any diagnostic is going to be on the physical phone. If they can get it to boot to the operating system that might be different of course. I'm only guessing but I'd suspect if they do anything it'll be a wipe and reinstall, which will remove the root access.

Try taking the battery out, pluging a USB cable into it and your computer, then turning it on. if that works there may be hope for it.


(To be clear: The battery should be out when you try to turn it on)

So that worked out pretty good, They sent me a overnight dilevery envolope and I got another new phone so now I have to phones, so I can experiment on one of them now. BTW no questions asked, thats a pretty good warrenty
