So how do you protect against...

What is USB debugging? What is the norm these days for protection against this? I just think about how there so much effort to have unlock codes when screen locked, when someone can just plug your phone in and copy all your pics and pretty much everything off.
 
USB debugging is a setting that allows ADB (Android Debug Bridge) interfacing, typically used for root applications. It is found under Settings > More/Developer options. If you have an unlock code set, only the device is visble on the computer (not its contents)… until you unlock it.
