So, how is the OTA treating you?

I have backup strategies but now should not be the time.. if its my own fault or is something more serious than a lousy ota update I understand

My phone was very unstable after the update so I just did a factory reset. After I did the factory reset my phone now has the 4G symbol displayed but I never got 4G in my house prior to the factor reset. Is there any explanation for this?

Not everyone can be perfect like you :p

I'll be sure to pass that along to WifelyMon, right after I update her life insurance, because that one's going to kill her laughing!

No telling. It's possible that your phone had something borked from the get-go - you wouldn't be alone on that score! I was in the same boat.

After the OTA, I can say that I've gotten no random reboots. I'm also 100% stock.

Purchased my phone April 24th.

Me neither. Don't know what I did to deserve one of the seemingly few Bolts without issues, but I'll take it! :)

Now when I say without issues, I mean without major issues. My phone still eats battery like a fiend randomly, but I think that's probably just an occasional runaway app.

Still no random reboots for me... looks like I've managed to beat that issue from 2 days ago with nothing more than powering down the phone for an hour

I had some reboots happening when I was out of town for a couple of days. Did a battery pull and let it sit for a couple minutes before powering back up and haven't had anymore since. Seems to be some.legitimacy to geo location and powering down but everything is kind of fuzzy. From what I've been reading here, resets don't seem to help and it doesn't seem to be app specific.

I can say for certain that my reboots happened after making a phone call or sending a text so it makes me wonder if it isn't related to the radio firmware and your location either to a specific tower or changing locations. It might make sense why some are getting a larger number of reboots. If they are by chance in an area that is between towers and the device is switching between the two frequently, it may be possible that this is somehow getting things messed up with the recent ota update and firmware.

It has to be the radio updates. Whenever I'm accessing data or switching towers, that's when the reboot occurs, OR, when it's searching for data, and when it finds the signal, it will reboot. At least for me.

Now is not the time for the backup strategy? I think you are missing the purpose of a backup strategy. You never know when you'll need it. By the way, I have had not problems with the update, and have never had a reset yet. Bought the phone the day it was released, so that's probably the first batch. There must be others like me with no problems, right? You don't hear complaints from people who don't have them so I feel we are underrepresented in the forums.

It's interesting though because I didn't have a single issue for 4-5 days and then all of a sudden.... I didn't download any new apps or make any changes since the update so it seems like a data, radio, or tower thing. I noticed I don't get the reboots unless my device is in a poor coverage area or if I've changed physical locations.

Bingo for me too. Was in the basement of a hospital where I know I don't get signal...when I went upstairs to spot I know I do my phone rebooted.

The thing that prompted me to switch phones (different model not same device) was not only the other issues like battery, text issues, ringtone issues, etc. was I started getting random reboots the day the OTA was being pushed out. The kicker is I didn't even install it. I was waiting to see if it would screw things up. I tried a battery pull, factory reset, nothing worked.

Adding that to the battery draining at different rates on different days (not a power user, usually on wi-fi, and couldn't find an app causing it) I jumped ship. At this point I'll wait for Verizon to get their LTE house in order before trying it out again.

One other thing. After I switched back to my Inc1 waiting on the Inc2 I switched to, I left my Tbolt powered off. It had 45% battery left on it when I shut it off. After 5 days I went to factory reset it before I shipped it back and the battery was dead. Somehow it managed to drain almost half the battery while being powered down. Fast boot was not enabled as I don't use that, so that made me feel even better about switching. Best of luck, hope Verizon makes things right with you guys.:)

Even with the phone off it will still draw some power from the battery. Just like with a car if you let it sit for months. Don't the battery go dead? It's nice to see someone get the reboot and didn't install the ota. Hope the dinc2 serves you well as i heard great things about that phone.

I just checked for a new version and was told that there wasn't an update available.

Looking at my current phone info, I have Software Number 1.13.605.7 (running das BAMF Remix 1.6.3.) What in the phone info would change?

You are rooted. Why would you want to install this update? You should be looking on XDA for updated ROM's that include this update.

Working great for me. I work in a 4G area but, on the fringe of it most of the time. It used to drop 4G and not pick up 3G consistently. Now it quickly switches over to 3G when the 4G signal gets weak. It also is spot on with the weather app location. Once again, I must be lucky (which is unusual for me) because my phone is actually better after the update.

how are you liking the Inc2?

So far all is good. I think the screen is better than the Tbolt's (to my eyes anyway). Putting my Inc1, Inc2, & soon to be returned Tbolt next to each other, The 2 Incredible's are about even as far as color, with the Inc2 being more sharp/crisp on details & text. The Tbolt is as sharp as the Inc2, but looks a little more washed out, like the brightness was set twice as high (all were set at 25% brightness)

Calls are much better, as is battery life. Granted, I have had it for only one day, but with setting up accounts & downloading apps, it's much better than my Tbolt was at the same time.

It's a lot better in the hand than the Tbolt, even though they are almost the same size. But I think the combination of the terraced sides and the lighter weight is what makes the difference.

The scrolling in the app drawer (less like scrolling, more like jump 4 lines at a time) is a little annoying, but with the recently used filter, you can actually bypass the bloat & quickly get to what you use the most.

Other than that, it's basically a mini Thunderbolt without LTE.

All in all very happy switching. I won't have LTE here for probably a couple of years, & most of my data use is on wi-fi anyway, so the tiered data isn't a big deal to me (I used around 200mB this month with about 6 days to go in the billing cycle).

I agree, & have had phones drain the battery when not in use.
But to drain almost half a battery in 5 days when it is actually off is a little much. The last feature phone I had (Moto Entice) still powered up after sitting off for a little over a year.

Granted that's a feature phone versus a smartphone, but other than keeping the time (which shouldn't happen either if you have it set to update through the network), what more would need to use the battery while the phone is off? There shouldn't be anything like the cell radio, data or gps services, or phone OS that should need to be operating while the phone is off.

Maybe I'm missing something but that's all I can think of.

Well.....Back to the drawing board for me.. Did a factory reset on Sunday night. Hadn't had a reboot since the reset until tonight. Happened in the middle of a call with a friend on AT&T. Got the phone booted back up, called him back and it did it again.

Guess I'll head to the corporate store tomorrow and see what they can do for me.

Well I did the update and am still having the lack-of-audio problem when recording videos. Thats just great.

I thought the update was supposed to fix that?

I have read this whole thread and many seems to believe that the reboot are caused by the radio towers. I noticed that my reboots happen only when my phone is unplugged. If I have it plugged in it won't ever reboot. So I think the reboot issue has more to deal with the power management of the phone. As if t was tower related then the phone should reboot no matter if the phone is plugged in or not.

I DLed the OTA yesterday. I got my first random reboot ever this morning. Then another one a couple hours later. I turned the phone off for a couple hours because I was going into a building where phones weren't allowed. I haven't had anymore reboots since. In that time I've traveled in a way that caused my phone to bounce off several different towers. I've also had it progress through various states of battery powers. So I don't think either of those is the main issue.

That said, the update is worthless to me. The only thing I wanted done was the GPS fix, and it's still the same.

I was just about to post that it's been 3 days now without a reboot and as I started typing BAM, my phone just rebooted as it was sitting idle on my desk. There is no rhyme or reason for this happening as I haven't done anything different in the last 3 days that could have caused this to happen now.

Very interesting... I just checked my battery info after it rebooted and I see "BugReport" as using 2% of my battery. How do I open the BugReport to see what it's reporting?
