So I b0rked my Nook :(

I left for work yesterday and heard my NC rebooting due to the wifi sleep issue. Didn't think anything of it until I got home and discovered the battery was completely dead. It was at 75% or so when I left so this was unusual. I plugged it in and gave it 30 mins or so. When I went to turn it on again, it booted to the splash screen and I saw the Nook Color logo, but would not boot any further. Nothing I did could make it boot past that screen. So I ended up giving it the famous 3 finger salute, pulled my SD card out of it and copied all my files off it. I've got backups with My Backup Pro and with Titanium so I should be good in that regard. It's a 32 gb card so I started the copy process and went to bed.

Anyway, the NC is now un-rooted. I now have the opportunity to rebuild my NC from scratch. I'm wondering if anyone screwed up stuff with their Nook the first time that they would avoid doing again. Since I have to root again from the ground up when I get home I'm looking for ideas on what to possibly avoid this time. Also, if anyone knows what caused this in the first place, please tell me. I was running 1.0.1 stock rooted.

I would suggest upgrading the firmware to 1.1 and use autonooter 3.0's image to gain root back. Its my opinion that 1.1 is more stable than 1.01 especially when it comes to wifi. So its basically the same process but with the most up to date nook base rom.

I gotta disagree. autonooter 3.0 messes things up for a lot of ppl. its not good.

I recommend autonooter 1.0.1, then flash clockwork from manager, then flash pre rooted 1.1.

that is the only method that I consider rock solid and stable. everytime I have someone do it, their issues go away
