So I got my replacement Droid Incredible

Good luck bro. They promised me a retail one too because, and I quote, "verizon doesnt have any reconditioned phones available for warranty"

Nope, reconditioned phone. If it was under 30 days for you you could have just gone into the store and done a swap. thats what I did.

Yeah I can imagine, but I got clever, and checked the sizes of shipped packages lol

A refurb ships at 1lb/0.5 kg's and a Retail box ships at 2lbs/1kg

So check your shipping with fed-ex to check for future reference :0

hpw long to get your replacement bc i just filed a water damage claim but it is on back order and they dont know how long it will be. i also hope it is new and not refurbished.

Question for the OP. I actually just got a replacement due to water damage, aka rain, through Asurion. It's a brand new phone because they basically have no refurbs in stock as what I was told. My question is, did you receive a 2gb sandisk in your phone when you opened the box?

if you are getting a replacement from a filed claim, you are probably not getting a new phone. you are definitely going to get just the front/meat of the phone, no sd card, no battery, no back side. it will come in a brown box. this is how i received my refurb. the problem is, we have no way to know if the "refurbs" are actually pre-owned or new and just have those components removed (which...that sounds super unlikely). so i'd just be expecting a refurb.

thing is, like grandmaster said before, it doesn't matter if it's new or refurb. what matters is if it works or not. mine works fabulously well. i do not care if it's brand new or not. i'm curious, sure, but it's not important, so long as the phone works well.

Dial ##778 SEND/View Mode/Display

Look at refurbishment status and refurbishment date. If you phone came in a brown box with no battery or back cover it is refurbished.

so i dialed 778. so under the refur status & refurb date it says <not avaiable> under both. does that mean it's not a refurb?

I got my clnr today and was also told it would be new. Has 3 hours and 44 mins of usage and a badly scratched camera cover. Guessing its not new :/

To those of you who received replacements in the last week, were your orders backordered when you placed them? I placed one today and it was backordered. I hope it isn't a month or more until I get mine Dinc back...

Mine was back ordered - took about 4 days to ship.

Received it about 2 weeks ago.

My replacement was a brand new retail phone. It was backordered for almost a month and I also received a $25 Verizon gift card when I finally got my phone.

I got my replacement yesterday, CLNR (aka refurb). As I stated in my thread before, I've never had a problem with refurbs, but my phones get used. This means they have scratches and dents and generally don't look brand new. A refurb usually looks better than what I'm exchanging. And, I've had many refurbs that have lasted well past their life expectancy.

In any case, this one looks, feels and works like brand new. It came in a brown FedEx box and I'm not sure if this is what you guys are refering to as the brown box. But in the fedex box, it was packaged in a gray Verizon box with Like-New Certified Replacement branded on it.

I have no pink hue.

Regarding the Refurb status by dialing ##778... I see a "Life Counter"... would ths be how many times the phone has been reset? That may give a clue to whether it is new or refurb.

Soo... okay. After looking at a few other threads and posts, I sorta see what people are talking about. I do see a pink hue, but only in things that are supposed to be gray, and only in my browser. Everything else looks fine. Not really a big deal to me.

Thank god most porn isn't in gray.

Life Counter is the number of calls sent/recieved on the device.
