So I just talked to a verizon employee...

What I like about a phones design would be a rounded appearance and some type of rubberized, easy to hold without dropping it,design. Something that feels firm, but not overly bulky. Something with a quality feel to it,but definately not something that I'd be afraid to drop because it's made of slick plastic.

I agree with you on the feel. Other than ergonomics, physical button hardness/loudness, and button placement, I really did like the rubberized feel of the DX. Felt solid, and it didn't slip out of your hand like my Fascinate does on a regular basis.

Despite the Fascinate being slick, cheaper looking plastic, mine has crashed down on carpet, hardwood, metal, even occasional concrete or pavement, and it continues to function well. It's held up better than I would've expected. It's not quite a year old yet, though ... we'll see if it makes it two years.

I hope the Bionic has a solid, rubberized feel to it, but the leaked Amazon photos look a lot more like the materials found on the Fascinate. It'll be heavier, what with the larger battery and LTE, but I hope it has some aluminum and rubberized components to it. Even if it doesn't make the product more durable, I can still appreciate it feeling more durable. :D
