Help So i think im screwed my phone up bad..

So i i tried rooting and unlocking my phone for the first time and it actually worked! when i got home and decided to flash the roms i got an option to boot to recovery and before doing so i cleared data cache. When it restarted i realized that I no longer had the majority of apps that came with the phone including the marketplace app. I also am not able to sign into my gmail account to sign in my phone with google. PLEASE help me im desperate! i tried unrooting but that also seems not to work because while i boot up my phone i still see this pink unicorn boot animation.

you have to install Google Apps aka Gapps. not from the market but from a file. which rom are you using?

that is what i am using. if you are using the "builds" then you will need to install the Gapp.zip. if you are using the "milestone" rom then you do not need the Gapps.zip.

you should reinstall the AOKP rom and then flash the Gapps.zip

ok how do i run the gapps.zip? i downloaded it and i touched it but nothing came up? can someone give me a link to the one they are using? and after i do this will i be able to sign into gmail again?

wipe data (optional, needed if coming from another rom)
wipe cache and dalvik cache
flash AOKP rom. when finished flash Gapps.zip

Gapps.zip - LINK

it seems you are new at this. you rarely doing anything from the bootloader. if you want to start fresh. a proper way of flashing a new rom is:
1. Go into recovery
2. Make a backup (takes a while; always backup when flashing something new, just in case)
3. Wipe Data/Factory Reset
4. Wipe Cache
5. Wipe Dalvik Cache (in advanced settings)
6. Go to where the AOKP rom you downloaded and flash that (make sure its the right one, "toro" is for LTE GN, and "maguro" is for GSM GN)
7. Go to where the Gapps.zip is, flash it.
8. Reboot and done (make take a while, dont worry. flashing something a new rom always takes a while to boot)

Thanks! i did this and it works! the market place is back and google is syncing! the only problem now is that every time i go to an app to click on it it just crashes now in the market place proventing me to download other apps

this should not have happened. if its just the Android Market then go into Settings> Apps> All> Market> Clear data. reopen the market and try it again.

if it still is crashing, then go into Recovery> Advanced >Fix Permissions> Reboot

i dont really know what to do from here. i guess to try and reflash everything again. not sure, never ran into this problem.

no prob. if you are using builds of the same ROM you dont have to factory reset. for instance going from build 20 to build 21. just wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, flash new build and gapps, reboot

Ah... being a newbie at flashing. I learned way back on the OG Droid how to weave my way through android. I remember before we even had CWM... good ol' times.

At any rate glad your problem was fixed. You'll love that ROM for sure.

Its way more complicated then jailbreaking an iphone but so rewarding when you get everything working ^_^ haha gotta start out from somewhere right?

Glad you got it all working! Once you get the hang of it I think you'll find its less complicated than jail breaking an iPhone. It is for me anyway. Welcome to the addiction. LOL.
