I've immensely appreciated the work that all the devs and users of this site have put into this low-end phone over my year and 2 months worth of owning the Ally, but my battery COMPLETELY fried on my Ally a few days ago..
I went into the Verizon store and see if they had a replacement for me in-store, which they did not, as the phone has been phased out, which I kind of figured would happen.. so I would have had to pay $50 upfront and wait a few days for them to mail a battery, then be refunded the money..
or, I was surprised to hear there was a (leftover) early upgrade on the plan from before the policy change occurred, I'm guessing..
I practically geeked out, and jumped at the chance, asking for the Thunderbolt (one left in stock, luckily).
So I was GLAD to retire the Ally, as I'd been ITCHING for my upgrade, for months...and finally was able to get the phone I had my heart set on for 8 months now.
Now I am the proud owner of a Thunderbolt, and will be moving on from this forum..
Again, a BIG thank you to everyone in this forum that made the Ally all it could be for the duration of time I owned it. It was fun, and a good beginner Android, I suppose.
*salute*
I may pop in from time to time, but I'll be looking for the Thunderbolt forum now......and have chosen not to root this one (for a long time at least), since it's powerful enough, and I like my warranty.
