There are so many companies manufacturing smartphone......as a consumer i get confused with this industry....just today i learnt that Kyocera have their own smart phones.....i guess i should expect one from Toyota soon....lol

Yup, too many. But every maker seems to think their phone will click with the public and people seem to want choices. I hate going through countless specs for countless phones, so I simplified. Only the larger screens for Bob, which eliminates 90% of everything that is out there.
The Note is too big but the S3 is just right. I decided to avoid dumb phones, iPhones, Blackberry phones and anything with a smaller screen.
Therefore, I only have to look at a small number of phones (offered by no contract carriers) so buying and studying is easier.
Moved to The Lounge as it's more on-topic here than Computers & IT.
Consumer electronics in general have a mind numbing variety of choices. I am often heading for the aspirin bottle when it's time to replace a piece of tech.
Phones are like women ... choose the wrong one and and your life will be miserable. The right one will bring you great joy and shopping can be a lot of fun.

Kyocera has been in the mobile business for a while. My first cell phone in 2001 was from them. But that was back in the day we could only have 20 contacts and had to carry a pda with us.

I did not know that.....was a shocker when i discovered......frankly i think companies should concentrate on one product and perfect it.....kinda like i trust Sony for their Hi-Fi systems only and am skeptical with any other of their products
