So my ex husband will be executed on Thursday.

I wanted to point out that I still don't agree with capital punishment. If it had been my choice I would have wanted Christopher to live with what he had done. The main reason that I am against capital punishment is the possibility that an innocent man may be put to death. In this case I know that Christopher was guilty, he told me and the courts what he did, so I know that an innocent man is not being put to death. However even then if I had a choice I would have let him wake up every day remembering what he did. I think that would have been a harsher punishment. So that hopefully will answer your question, although you must have edited it out, because I don't see it anymore.

I just want to say, here we are posting to build you up and provide some measure of consoling words for you, but it is your post that seem to build the rest of us readers up! You have such a big heart! You've made it through the storm. I hope this forum continues to be a meeting place for upbuilding when you need to get passed some moments.

Now 3 days have passed since final sentence was carried out, and I really hope that somehow you, danaj, are now able to only think about your beautiful son knowing that the monster who carried out the dreadful act no longer has to be in your thoughts - ever.

I commend you for having the strength to go on after enduring theworst possible thing imaginable. I only hope that i would. I'm glad you finally have at least some sense of closure and relief. I respect your views on capital punishment. But i don't think someone capable of something so cowardly would have a problem waking up each day and living with it. No in this case i think eye for an eye is a fair and just punishment. I know your beautiful son now lives on forever inside of you, and no evil can ever take that away. Good luck and stay strong!
