I guess this can go here since most of the roms are GB. What are the advantages of GB on the triumph? I understand the need to get rid of the bloat ware but what is better about GB? I'm gonna use cm7 seeing how it looks like the most popular and most stable GB based ROM...just want to know why is GB better than froyo?

Well it's better on this phone cause you don't have all the touch screen and button bugs that the stock ROM has.Also it has tethering and other goodies that you can put on it that an unrooted stock ROM can't support.It's basicly smoother to put it simply.

Now, are you talking about just CM7 type ROM's, or MIUI? Because there are HUGE differences between stock and MIUI...lol
You can use video in Google Talk, the battery stats are more feature-filled. Supposedly GB has better battery life. Bluetooth stays connected. The screen is much more responsive, though that is not likely a GB thing vs just the work people put into the ROM.
CM7 specifically also has some nice things like the notification power widget. Man will that thing spoil you.
Many of the ROMs also include updated Adreno drivers for better graphics performance. And you generally lose HDMI as the trade-off.
Also, I think you may find over time that fewer apps support Froyo? GB is still by far the most prevalent version of Android, Froyo is getting smaller and smaller. The latest Firefox browser supports 2.2+. How long before it is acceptable to only support 2.3+ for apps?

Thanks for that. That one and the wiki site really helped. So does cm7 and other roms do everything that a phone that comes with GB do? I'm pretty stoked about the new cm7 and being able to use beats audio and a few other things. I guess my question is do these roms do everything stock GB does? Hope that makes sense and thanks so much for the help.

CM7 and GB are two different animals. GB is released by Google and CM7 is released by Cynogenmod. The big difference is more options and tweaks to the OS. CM7 is based of Google code but many new features are built in. It takes some time to wrap your hands around them as I still find new stuff all the time, and I even develop on CM7. Anyways don't forget MIUI that is another excellent GB ROM, it's developed by the MIUI group out of China.
They too also took the Google code and made changes to the code to make it easier to use and more user friendly, their design is very much inspired and very similar to IOS on iDevices (iPhone, iPad, etc.) While it's not for everyone it's worth a try for sure. I say try both and see which one you think is the best for you. While there is 3 flavors of CM7 TickerGuy, TG Reloaded, and g60style I would recommend g60style as it's the most up to date with the CM7 mainline.
Because our phone is somewhat of a different animal some of the code had to be changed to work properly with our phone. There is still a few bugs left on CM7 I have been working through but for the most part it is very stable. Each dev on the Android Forums will have a list of what works and what doesn't with each ROM they support. Even if you don't stick with CM7, there is plenty of other choices be it Froyo, GB, or ICS. Ok that's what I'm looking for. The miui didn't sound like what I want. I guess I should say that cm7 does everything stock GB does plus more. I will be trying it in a few days. I just hope that sound bug is fixed and the screen staying dim.
Edit: my friend has a Samsung prevail with GB on it but it doesn't seem as fast as mine...could be my phone is just faster.

Too be honest the Prevail is a sucky budget phone
the Triumph is lightyears ahead of that slowpoke
the fix is to NOT use automatic brightness.
cm7 has a setting where u can change the brightness by sliding your finger on the status bar.
turning off auto and turning on THAT setting is so much better.
