Root So when's ICS coming?

Well at least now Ive seen some sort of official date for release. Frustrating seeing all these people overseas getting it and nothing here in the US, we always seem to get stuff last these days. Phones, movies now updates. The days the US was first in everything are over I guess.

because if it's true, we have 3 more weeks to wait until we get official ICS. I had been on the fence thinking it was right around the corner, but made the plunge because I had my doubts about it being released in Q2.

Same here. I figured why not. I'm sure as soon as the official release is out someone will make it available for everyone who rooted. Most likely allot better. Without all the bloatware.:o

Is "genial tech support person at my special coded telephone number" something like my cousin's husband's brother's neighbor who works at the AT&T kiosk at the mall?

AT&T's twitter tweeted about the SII now having ICS. I replied asking what about the G-Note...they replied back with "No date at the moment, but it is certainly in the works."

I've given up on it.

I'm really contemplating the S3.

I've rarely pull my stylus out.

I was at a friends house last weekend...next morning I took a breakfast order for 5 people...first time i actually used the stylus for something useful!

It's the last day of Q2 2012, I'm so excited... ICS must be coming today!!! :/

I guess tomorrow we'll hear from AT&T and they'll tell us "sometime in late Q3". :( The ICS leak is looking very attractive right now!

I'm half tempted to root the f'n thing and put that Hypr Rom on it.

I just need to figure out how to do it.

I'm like so totally excited LOL.

I have never had a rooted Android; had plenty of jailbroken iPhones though.

@thegeek, so you skipped the ICS "leak" and went straight to a customized ICS ROM (which requires jailbreak?)

No.

I had the ICS leak and it was buggy as crap. It would crash if I tried to collapse a date range of emails; I have Exchange ActiveSync.

I went back to GB, but then got annoyed because I'm tired of waiting.

So, I said screw it today and I rooted the phone. Now I have the OnlyOne HYFR Beta 4 ICS ROM installed and it's flawless. My phone is so much faster, has better apps, and ZERO AT&T bloatware.

Jailbreak was the joke; term for iPhone's LOL.

Hanging out around XDA and I don't see many people bricking phones (don't recall anybody recently unless they tried to put the international ICS rom on the LTE version).

There was the superbrick warning on XDA though, but in the Galaxy Note LTE thread of XDA which I visit a couple of times daily, bricking is very rare.

If you like to take wild chances and don't really care about your phone being rooted; I highly recommend rooting and ICS OnlyOne HYFR build.

The phone is so much better than GB ever was; it's got great battery life too.
