Why the Nexus over any other phone? Whether it's about hardware or software, what makes you feel that this is the phone to own over the rest?

Seeing everyone's reason "why" might be cool!

I have a DINC and love it, I love Sense too actually. However, I like keeping up with new tech and playing with stuff. The fact the DINC is just now getting a 2.3 update isn't really that cool. It's impressive that they still support it but WAY behind. So I like the idea of easy software updates and knowing that ICS is there now, not whenever the manufacture and VZW would like to roll an OTA. I've never had a Samsung phone but I do love Samsung for many of their other products. So that's my pick. Also, my DINC is on the way out, not charging properly. If it were working perfectly I may have waited until Feb-March to see what else rolled, but at this point I want a GNEX NOW!

I think pretty much any smartphone is going to have the features i need so really the reason i want this one is the updated software. I don't want to go through the process of waiting 6+ months to have the latest version of Android or have the root the phone.

You may get a much better response to this thread if it's merged with the EPIC Pre-Release thread. If you like, I can do that for you and we can all join in the Great Conversation :)

I wanted to hear people's rationale, be it because they hate manufacturer skins, or because they really want NFC or whatever. The Pre-Release thread is going too fast, and I think this piece would get lost there. This is just another way for people to kill time and share why they are passionate about the Galaxy Nexus until we get one... since then we'll be too busy playing with the phone to visit the forums... at least for a lil bit lol :)
