This is pretty hard to believe. That is, if Prime has the specs it's been rumored to have since June. Vigor, I can understand.

Even if it were true that Prime and Vigor will be "blah" phones, I'm betting that by Black Friday I'll have a pretty good idea of what's available or will be shortly available.

Doubtful. Prime (SCH-i515) got bluetooth certification 2 days ago, and it's slated as a CDMA device for North America. That means either Sprint or Verizon. Given that SCH is a Verizon prefix, and that Sprint just got SGSII, it's pretty much in the bank that it's coming to Verizon. Book it. :p

This is something I literally can't do. Some of you have said I've got admirable patience. The truth is that I'm good at self-sabotage when it's necessary. Meaning, I spent all my Bionic money already. Unless I throw it on the credit card (which I hate doing), I won't be ready for purchase until October anyway.
 
Frak, Prime leading Bionic by more than 10? I've decided to wait for Prime, but I'm seriously re-thinking it with all this Bionic release leaks! So tempting!!!!!

I wonder if there's a Costco anywhere near by? :p

Lol, I ask the same thing everytime I want a new phone. :p

The word "soon" has a totally different meaning to manufacturers than the average consumer. Technically all manufacturers can say the have a new device that's better than the bionic because eventually there will be. I still say that a launch of a better phone in october for VZW is unlikely. October is Iphone month for VZW. Maybe in december but not October. Of course that's my opinion...if I'm wrong then cool. Expect nothing you won't ever get dissappointed. That should be the motto for all phone freaks lol.
 
Lol...I'm getting the Bionic, the Prime, the Vigor, and just about every other high end Android Phone that hits VZW in the foreseeable future. Yes, sadly I'm a phone whore...hahaha

Still not sure if it is coming anytime soon. ofc there will be phones better than bionic coming anytime soon.

and i doubt that any Dual Core, LTE, 15H battery life phone is coming anytime soon... If any phone that meets those three criteria pops up, then i will just use another upgrade that i have.
 
Well....I told the story of how my girlfriend has taken my Droid X1 hostage for months now before. (I did get my hands on it to put the Bionic scavenger hunt app on it. No reboots for me, works fine so far)

She must have butter fingers or something cuz even tho I've dropped it before lending it to her....she seems to be throwing it to the ground looking at my phone now, lol Now it has a huge crack in the corner of the screen, a black spot and black streaks under the glass . . I knew Gorilla Glass wasnt indestructible, but it has survived many, many, many drops before finally falling victim to the law of averages. Got it in July 2010 so its held up real good. Although my girlfriend hasent had it since July. I shudder to think what would've happened if she did...

This puts the Bionic firmly back at the top of my list. Thankfully she has T Mobile now and will be getting her own Android phone soon.. Even without the cracked screen I was still leaning heavy towards getting it. What can I say....I'm a Motorola guy...lol
 
I am still going to get the Bionic. The latest Verizon map Still does not have The Prime listed which is telling me that the Prime will not be released in October.. More then likely it will be late 4thQ or early 1stQ after the CDA conference. I am not waiting that long my Storm1 is on life support. I had to revive it again yesterday...

I don't put a lot of stock in the MAP lists, but even if I did, there aren't any phones there for October yet, including the iPhone 5, which I'm sure will come out in October for Verizon. It's fluid. Vigor is supposed to drop the first week of October, and that hasn't shown up yet. Despite that, I'm not 100% confident in the idea of an October release for Prime.

But, if Bionic has taught me anything, it's to wait. You poor guys have waited almost 9 months (!) for the Bionic, and those hopes will finally be realized! Whether it happens in October, November, or December, mine will too. :p
 
What it really comes down to for me is the size of the prime is just too big. I think the bionic will be still a little too big but i am going with it
because i can't wait any longer. Put it this way, I still have a BB Storm.

Still do not think that the Prime will be released in October.. This is just my Opinion... I am just waiting for something concrete. No more speculation. If nothing by 2 weeks after the Bionic is released. I will buy the Bionic!!!
 
I am going to hold out for the Prime I think... I just like the specs of it more, and I am always around a computer if it needs a charge... I am going to make my droid last another few months, I will need to fine tune it though :P

Look better is a matter of opinion. Other stuff is just speculation. Not concrete. So I think I will stick with The Bionic unless something concrete is released.

It is all speculation up to this point, with precious few shreds of evidence. But so was the Bionic, remember, until the recent deluge of leaks in the last couple of weeks or so.

Specs on the Prime will be better regardless because it's going to be a newer release with ICS.

As stated on another thread somewhere around here, Gingerbread came out late last year and is just now doing the final push to Moto devices that haven't had it. If ICS is the Android-rebuit-from-the-ground-up, merger of Honeycomb and Gingerbread monster that it's said to be, I'm waiting for the Prime just for that, if nothing else.

Yea, I saw the PRIME news and was wondering but the Costco deal with additional docks & battery sounds VERY tempting. I have a TB and it has minimal hook up and an awful charger placement. I also hear that SKYPE will come pre loaded on the Bionic which I like. Currently Skype on the FB uses the back cam for send source. What kind of deal is that!? Oh... just stand in front of a mirror. Problem solved?:(

I am just not willing to wait another 2 - 3 months. I have someone in the corporate office of Verizon in Greensboro, NC. He has seen nothing or heard nothing. But feed me info on the Bionic since May. Believe me if he had info on the Prime he would of feed me something by now. That is why I think it is not coming in October. Just in case are you guys willing to wait till December or after CES for the Prime if it takes that long? I am not willing to wait that long. I have another upgrade so I can get the Bionic and wait for the Prime if it comes later this year.

My sister, who also works at Verizon, tells me that Samsung is coming with something and that it won't be like the "bionic wait".

Of course, that tells me nothing I don't already know. And I'm not willing to wait til after CES to get the Prime. Like I said before, if Black Friday comes around, and I don't hear anything official regarding the Prime's release, then I'm getting the Bionic.

Those of us who prefer the Prime are by no means calling out the Bionic as being a chump phone. It's freaking awesome. I just think that I would rather have ICS out of the box and a full HD screen.
