Help software issues

I have a couple issues with software on my HTC one m8, when I pull down the notification screen I often see a " time to home" bar, I have never set this up and I'm worried it is draining my battery/data by running location and directions in the background. The other issue is with the weather channel app, it will sometimes show me two different temperature icons on the top bar of my phone. I have to restart my phone to get rid of the extra one. Any help here would be apppreciated, thanks in advance!

The time to home is from Google now. Go into Google now then setting then notifications and turn them off. Google now notifications aren't really needed anyway unless you use it for weather. As for the weather channel app theres probably something in settings to toggle off celsius
