Help Software not updating

It's been showing that I've had a software update for over a month, but when I go to update my phone, it goes through the whole restarting process and then a picture of the Android guy comes up with an exclamation point. What gives? I have enough space and my phone is fully charged.

My phone is rooted, but I heard that you can still update it, but you would just lose your root.


::EDIT:: Nevermind, I read that you can't just update when you are rooted, even though I did hear that you still can, but you would just lose root. Hmm... Great. I want the new ring unlock screen. Lol.

You can update while rooted but not with an unlocked bootloader. If it's unlocked, you need to relock it with the following command while the phone is connected by USB and in fastboot mode:

fastboot oem lock

But then I would have to root the phone again, right?

Yeah, but that's not nearly as hard as the first time... you have experience now
