I was just prompted to restart my phone and download a new Software Update - any info on this??

As soon as it finished, I'm going to try the only known rooting method and I'll give you guys updates.

Update 1: Won't work under root.

After it downloads and restarts, I get the Android and the blue bar, but then what seems like 1/3 of the way there, the Android dies and there's a red triangle with a [!]

Just finished updating. I am rooted and nothing went wrong during the update. I did lose my root access though.

Yes I was able to re-root with the one-click application. We probably still have a locked bootloader though

Yeah its locked still. Lemme know if battery life improves, mines spottty.

Updating is easy. Just use OTA Roptkeeper and temporarily unroot. I also disabled supersu. After the update, i restored root and enabled supersu. Easy

Spectrum ICS root still roots our phone.
Root and restore didn't work...

I copied every root file to another microsd, did the unroot, uodated, then readded the files, and it restored

I tried to apply the LG Spectrum root after the patch, and every time an app tries to get root I get "<APP> has been denied Superuser permissions", even Superuser itself. Anyone know what the problem might be?

EDIT: Found the reason, the root script has a bug in it for the Linux/OSX installer. In linux-osx.install.sh, change this line:

$adb push su /system/xbin/su

to this

$adb push su /system/bin/su

i tired to re-root after the so called software upgrade my Lucid deined LG Spectrum root can someone help please

Redownload the root files or just reboot your computer. And also make sure ur drivers are up to date. It happened to me, but i rebooted my laptop and phone, it updated the drivers, and allowed root

no didn't work also i did a hard reset and factory reset and can not root my phone does anyone else have this problem

cannot seem to get mine rooted either, none of the methods I have tried work :-(
tried the old one of course did not work, the one click reboots the phone a couple times etc but then says (are you root?) because it failed.

Never buying another phone without a major ROM/Root scene behind it again.

mine was rooted b4 this last update and now it's not. funny thing super user and busy box are installed but apps that require root access are denied and i just dl a app that will not run says i have root access WTF
