Help Software Update 3/31/14

It says bug fixes but haven't done it yet because I figured I would wait until people were discussing it here but it still yet has been mentioned so just curious if anyone has done it.

Anyone know? I too was getting this update, but I restarted the phone to make it so since touching the "x" didn't do anything.

I'm with sprint. Don't want to lose root

The file name said "Samsung A..." It was abbreviated and I tried to expand the notification but it wouldn't. It said 15 MB in file size.

Didn't want to take a chance.

A poster here got an update like that with TMobile about a week ago. Scroll down a bit, and you'll find it. As I remember, it was "patches and fixes" or something similar, but that poster did try to post what they knew about it.

I believe the update is for Samsung Apps. I find it freezes during the update and the only way I have found to stop it is to force close the app.

Well, I decided to do it because the constant update message has became annoying to me. The phone is booting now, and so far everything seems fine. It's optimizing all my apps now.

the update was 15MB in file size and I was on 4G service, but it just started to hang only like 20% through. That plus I was afraid of losing root so I forced it to restart.

Theres a chance you would have lost root but maybe not since it was a tiny file, not the full OS. Do you have custom recovery?

Yes, but honestly, if it's only an update to the samsung apps bloatware then I don't want it anyway. From what I could read of the download file name, I do believe that's what was being pushed to the phone.

I hear ya there buddy. I dont have a single bit of samsung crap left on my phone other than the drivers or whatever. To me its poison ;)

I got this update as well (virgin mobile) and disagreed to the terms so it cancelled.

But somehow it broke adblock plus and they issued an update this morning.

i must be odd because i actually prefer Samsung's apps over the buggy Google Play versions any day. i like their UI, and their reliability. Google Play is too basic, too minimalist, and half the time gives errors. if you want a Google Experience, get a Nexus.
