Software Update 6.0.A.3.73

Sony Bridge for Mac (V2.1) now has a backup facility too.

Still struggles to detect the phone about 75% of the time though! Lots of quitting app/restarting or reconnecting phone to get it to work.

Hi Guys,

Brought a Sony xperia s a couple of days ago and the battery life is crap. After doing research this update to the firmware makes the battery life better (Support Software Update 6.0.A.3.73 ). In the pc companinon it keeps saying that the phone is upto date, i know on this forum it has been done from the companion, any ideas. Thanks

You need FlashTool.exe and the 6.0.A.3.73 firmware - available on the internet if you search - where are you? If UK or Europe even then you can use the Generic CET firmware - really easy to do.

Thanks would i use the [FIRMWARE][6.0.A.3.73] Central Europe 1 Generic: OT
and what does the root one do and do i need to do that>

Hi i am trying to flash my sony xperia s using the flsh tool it tell me to disconnet power off hold back and plug back in, there is no hard button on the s and when i do hold the touch screen button nothing happens. Any ideas?

The update (T-Mobile UK) just showed up it my PC Companion about an hour ago, so worth your while trying PCC again if you haven't managed to flash.

As it's said a few posts back.
If the battery is Crap try setting it to gsm or hspd and not auto.
Helps a lot.

I wonder if the update is ready for generic models now, as I've just connected my phone and got it saying;

'Cannot check for updates (server error)'

This might mean it's being swamped with updates! If it's you - please stop as I want to do mine. ;)

Or, it might really mean there's a server error!

EDIT: Seems it was a server error. Now back to saying my phone software is up to date. LIES!!

Ahhhhh disssapointed? Much?

Very! :p

Ah well, tomorrow's another day.. Will try then.

It's quite ironic as these updates are simply fixing bugs. It's ICS I really want.

Yeah exactly, that's why I don't really care about this update.

Like you, ICS is what I'm after.

I ended up flashing the europe version of .73 after getting bored waiting for the UK generic one. Like others my battery seems to be faring much better after the update
