Software update problem

My phone informed me there was an update ready but when I did it, the phone told me I didn't have enough memory. I shifted some stuff around but now I don't know how to continue with the update. I can't see a software update feature or anything.
Any help gratefully received.

If it's a System update: Settings>About phone>System software updates>Check now ... Voila

If it's an app update: >Market>Downloads> .... updates are marked
