Help software update with kies mini - insufficient space?

I've tried to update the software OTA several times and it always fails. So I downloaded Kies Mini and installed it and the drivers with no problems. However, when I attempt to update the software, I get an error saying, "Insufficient storage space on PC. Please check the hard disc's capacity and try again. -Capacity required: 3MB."

I've definitely got more than 3MB of storage space on my PC!! I tried rebooting the computer, removing software to make even more space... I still get the same message. I'm at a loss. I don't understand why it is nearly impossible for us to update our software... Does anyone have any suggestions?

Having had this problem myself, I believe what it's saying is that it needs 3 more MB not that it needs total. I noticed this after it said it needed 260MB yet I had 780 clear. I deleted some stuff and then it said it needed 116. I think it needs a bit over 1 Gig free.

Yep. Cleared up some more stuff and it appears to be working now.

Now I just need to work out where all my memory went...
