I was reading an article online, and it mentioned that the EVO 4G has similar battery issues when it came out. It was alleviated with a software update. Do you see this happening for the thunderbolt?

I've heard people say it could help to a certain degree. I've also heard people say that, when Android 2.3 is released for the Thunderbolt, that could help a little, too.
Just out of curiosity, is there any estimate as to when 2.3 will be officially released for the Thunderbolt? Generally speaking, of course?
Since the battery issues are user error, no I do not.
LOL. That's funny right there.
What's funny is the large number of ignorant people who care more about believing they are right than fixing a problem because it means admitting they are wrong.
You're trying to argue something that's been proven.
How exactly is it proven? Please do show some evidence because pretty sure the battery life was horrible in testing is that user error?
The funniest thing is folks thinking all of the hardware features, 4G and software that is running, will yield the entire day with heavy use on a 1400 mah battery.
Besides data with 4G, that super sweet and vivid LCD has a cost for power. As soon as I set eyes on it I figured its beauty had a price..... "They" always do
There is no debate, it has been over for a while. It's an issue of people refusing to accept reality because it hurts their pride.
There's no point in discussing this with you because you are religiously convinced you are right, it shows by your condescending attitude. Ignorance is bliss.
It's proven because not everyone has a problem with the battery life. That right there should be enough. It won't be for you however because you don't believe you can make a mistake, you believe you know everything about Android when the fact is that you don't have a clue. It's been discussed and solved numerous times in numerous threads on this and many other forums. It's interesting that you haven't read any of them.

Dude relax. Did u design this phone with HTC or something. You sound more religious about it than anyone else here. Relax. The battery life with 4g does suck but that is the case with all new phones that ate designed around a new chipset. There are a lot of user errors but in this case alot of it is not.

Pot, meet kettle.
BTW, you can't base your argument on the fact that "not everyone has problems with battery life" because you don't know how people are using their phones and what settings they are using.
For example, are people who get good battery life in a 4G area or only 3G? Are they connected to WiFi all day or not? How many phone calls do they make? Do they have data always on? Push email? What's their screen brightness setting?
I could get 12 hours out of this battery if I turned off WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G, data off, screen brightness at 10%, and didn't use my phone. But that kind of defeats the purpose of having this phone doesn't it?
If I have to turn off functionality in order to extend battery life to more than 4 hours of normal use, that is evidence that the included battery is not sufficient to support the features provided by the phone.
Just had to plug my phone in after 5 hours off charger. WiFi off, two short phone calls, and some Twitter/Engadget reading. That's it.
Yesterday, I got 8 hours of battery life, but I was connected to WiFi the entire time, no phone calls, and barely touched the phone.
So yeah, if you don't use your phone at all, battery life is fantastic.
I'll agree, it is not all user error, the majority of it is buyer error. if you bought this phone expecting 8 hours of heavy use when it has 4g, a 4.3 SLCD screen, and all other other goodies it has, well then you just aren't the brightest bulb in the box.Now the TB does have battery issues but its not all user error!.
I had the incredible and it had pretty bad battery life, and it took forever to charge. Then an update came out and after that the battery was a lot better, and the battery charged from dead to full in under two hours. I think an update will come out to help with the battery issue. The question is when...
Love this phone tho.
