Software Update

I have seen sources in print and have been told by big V support that reception reporting and data connection quality will be upgraded in March.

If they throw in screen lag and actually fix the issues I would be a completley satisfied customer.

I'm one of those people that think the 4.0.3 OTA update wont be applied to unlocked, rooted and romed phones. Am I wrong?
I've read the update will be the first week or so in Feb, not that far off. I'd just like to see what it does after the update, to give VZW a fair chance, so to speak.
Back to the root part. Everything I've read says that official updates FROM VZW, Google or Samsung or whichever does them, do not apply to rooted phones where the rom has been flashed. The developer has to provide you with his/her update, which probably wouldn't be too applicable, since they have changed the Stock PHONE anyway.
I have plenty of time to root rom or what ever. Personally I don't think the phone is that bad anyway in its stock form. It rings I answer it, I need info, I surf the web and find it. It has a cool screen, that has not froze. a little better battery would be cool, but I'm figuring out how to deal with it.

What about that one guy here that says they scrapped 4.0.3 completely and are starting fresh with 4.1? :D:D

I hope they can address battery life with 4g more than anything. And I would love a stock pop up notification on the home screen, something just a little more fresh (:

I really do love my Nexus. That being said I am still waiting for that software update we were rumored to see in mid January.

I am hoping it will address keyboard lag, signal issues voice and data, and a few other things.

Has anyone heard anything?

First time I encountered keyboard lag was posting here last night. Very aggravating but I was too tired to try to figure why it was doing it. I haven't tooled around here to see if there are any settings I can adjust but this site apparently has it's own auto correction/dictionary set up so it was indicating I needed corrections in my copy and offering me "replace" suggestions, keeping them in place for about five seconds, then revert. I'm sure there's a fix that but I'd still hate it.

I have auto replace shut down as it is the one "help" that makes me want to throw a phone through a wall.

I happy overall but I can see there is serious tweeking that could make this a near perfect little device.

No; I just need to read the whole post next time. I stopped after the Verizon rep part and, let's face it, around here people take things way too seriously. Glad we were on the same page, though.

Yep.....same page. I actually love my GNX....the update will only make it better....

I heard they are skipping 4.0.3 for the GNex and are going strait to 4.1. They are delaying the release because google wants to include google wallet but Verizon wont let them. An insider told me that the Sprint GNex will include 4.1 and the verizon GNex will get it around the same time.

The Verizon version of the Galaxy nexus will likely be a couple of weeks or more behind the international version for updates. No updates go out to Verizon phones ( or tablets) until Verizon allows it. The Xoom is a perfect example of a Verizon device getting slower updates. The wifi Xoom has had ICS for a good bit now and the Verizon Xoom is still waiting. I hope that won't be the case for the Galaxy Nexus but we all know that all bets are off where Verizon is concerned.

Curious. Then how did we Verizon customers get 4.02 before the gsm model?
