Software update

My S4 is trying to update the software to latest version but i get the message "The software update service is not available. Maximum number of roll-out updates has been exceeded. Try later or update your device using Samsung Kies" Now i've had this message for 4 days. I connected my phone to Kies and there is a update available. I was just wondering if this firmware update will wipe any data on my phone as it says I have to back up my data
 
I also get this message. Will I be able to update through update service eventually or will I have to update via Kies?
