Sold my Bionic

It's part of some people's human nature. Most people driving 2011 Camry's could care less if someone sold their 2011 Camry to buy another car, especially a stranger. So, I really don't understand the logic of people here getting defensive over a phone that they DID NOT design, manufacture, or produce. Not everyone is going to like you, and similarily, not everyone is going to like your phone.

To be blunt, I think you got ripped off. Hopefully, you don't plan on paying full retail for the Galaxy Nexus or Rezound. That's $300 more for phones that are probably worth only $50-$100 more.

I dont think the camry forums have as avid fans than phone, computers and gamer forums. :p

I think the "defensive" nature goes both ways. I think everyone has the right to express their opinions but please be respectful to one another. The OP had a bad experience with his phone so his action of selling it is based on that.

As for the price, i think he sold it for a good price. My only opinion on it is that he has to use another upgrade which might not be a big deal for him. I look at upgrades as currency as well. Basically an upgrade is worth about $250-350 dollars since you're getting a discount from retail. So in my eyes, if i were doing what the OP is doing, I am spending too much money on one phone. Call me frugal. :D

That sounds like a good social experiment for you. Find a "very active" NEW Camry forum, tell them you just bought...then sold your Camry and list a bunch of things you hate about it. Tell them you are buying the new Kia, Honda and/or Nissian because theirs is better. Let us know the results (with a link). Great idea!

EDIT: SCRATCH THAT IDEA, per xmr405o's excellent points below.

Excellent point...the experiment should be something people are more passionate about like a gaming forum or something! I wouldn't be posting in a car/Camry forum.

Lol please do not go into camry forums with posts like that. You might feel the wrath of my mom and sister. They both own camrys. :D

Jk.

You don't have to justify it. If you want to be defensive about people selling their Bionics, then go ahead.

My point is if you don't have any problems with your Bionic (or can deal with the problems), and you like the phone, then why care that someone sold their Bionic?

LOL. Yea, that would be like going to iPhone 4S forums and telling them I sold my 4S. Except, I think Camry owners are much more rational.

I based the price on the average selling (not listing) price on eBay, which was around $350-370 w/o the battery. So getting $400 for it is reasonable IMO. I would've tried Craigslist if I didn't hate it so much. For every decent CL user, there's 10 idiots.

I'll be using an upgrade on the GNex, and hopefully it'll be available through Amazon Wireless or Letstalk.com. I purchased the Bionic through Letstalk for $175, I'm banking on the GNex to be only a tad more. As I mentioned earlier, using an upgrade isn't too big of a deal when 3 out of 5 phones will not need upgrading unless they were to fail. In that case, they are non-smart phones so replacement won't be costly.

I also got UNLIMITED data with my upgrade. Is that still true? If it is, how much is that worth?

Good luck man...Don't listen to the nay Sayers. Get something your happy with and go from there. As long as your sticking to your guns and coming back to the land of little green men, its all good!

If memory serves me correctly, I believe you can't downgrade your service or plan for 6 months on one of the online retailers will charge you. Not sure about Letstalk or Amazon or Wirefly...lol

Well in any case. Be careful, spin.

Nope, but if you think the Bionic gets hot, avoid the Razr unless you have an oven mitt on.

I agree with this guy, my phone doesn't get hot ever... It is always cool to the touch, slightly warm if I have been using it for an hour or more...

Sorry, I'm having a bit of difficulty figuring out what you mean by downgrading my service. I have not downgraded anything as far as I know. Currently, I've just switched back to my BB which has the unlimited data plan. Only difference is that it's 3G, which may be what you mean. I hope they do not charge me for going from 4G to 3G!

Wish it were the same with my Bionic. It would get warm every so often while streaming or just simply surfing, but that night it was hot enough I think to nearly burn my hand. There was a 1 ft radius of "hotness" on my bed from where the Bionic was laying.

Not sure if this is what you're planning to do...you have 3 upgrades and i think you said they are feature phones (a data plan is not required). You plan to use one of those upgrades to get your new phone and switch it to your number that your BB is using then reactivating the old feature phone and cancelling your data plan. If you do that they can charge you an ETF for downgrading your plan. Like i said i only remember someone saying that on another thread. I was hoping someone would correct me or confirm.

If im wrong i apologize but just wanted to throw it out there.

I see what you are saying. The nice thing about VZW.com is you can transfer the upgrade to any line on the family plan. So my plan is the transfer the upgrade to my BB line and upgrade from there. Then I don't believe I am downgrading in any way. I could be wrong though, what do you think?

You're absolutely right spin. VZW doesn't care if you do that, not sure about some online retailers especially the ones that offer phones for a penny.
