In a way this is a really really shitty issue for me as I purchased my phone off eBay so i'll be screwed.

and ya I'm pretty sure i reposted this but my issue is still very prevalent even after the radio flash

@ breezey & adtoes.

I just had HTC contact in regards to my shit feedback to them lol.

The lady went on to say that someone else had contacted her about the exact same issues and she told me that MobiCity should not be selling overseas phones to us because of frequency problems and so on. She said she is going to contact them directly aswell as aussie warranty to either send me an australian built one or give me a refund because of the rare situation we are in.

So it seems like it is something with the way the phones built.

I'll keep you guys updated.

Hi Neo,

Yes I had the same phone call from HTC yesterday. It might have been the same Lady. She said exactly the same thing to me. MobiCity aren't authorised to sell HTC products!! The option I had was to approach MobiCity to get my phone sent back to Singapore at their cost for a downgrade to 2.2 or an Aus model. I doubt MobiCity will be able to replace it with an Australian phone as it seems all their stock is sourced from overseas. Not to mention the only Authorisse Aus stock is Optus locked grr.

No ETA on when a fix will be found for the problem. It seems they are sitting on this one and blaming the fact is was sourced. I replied with what about those who bring their phone to Aus from overseas?? Why should they have to put up with this issue when it was sourced legally in their country? She couldn't answer me!.

Good luck with Aussie Warranties. Thanks for keeping us updated. I'm waiting for the outcome of yours (sorry) before sending mine off to Aussie purely because I'd have to buy a replacement phone while they sort this mess out.

Hope you get a refund out of them. They told me it wasn't possible due to the 48hr DOA policy. Something I'll dispute if it comes to that.

@ neo-X

Lets see if HTC can publish this so called OTA update this week. Not holding my breath!

I just received another HTC customer survey (this makes 4 in the space of a week) for the contact last week. Can you guess what the feedback is going to be??.

Hurry up HTC and release a fix!! I don't care where the phone came from! I don't want to send it back to singapore for a downgrade to 2.2! Don't blame where the phone originated. It should work in any country that uses the same frequency/network as my device on 3G. Every heard of global roaming??

I feel sorry for you in your situation mate. Most likely the guy before you purchased it from overseas aswell.

Ring up HTC and get them to check where the phone originated or find this out somehow.

That way you will know for sure its that exact problem.

You are in Australia?

Or you could just sell it on ebay again :(

No I'm in canada which makes this situation neat cause we're literally on opposite ends of the world :P

so i contacted the north american hotline today and based on my IEMI it's a canadian phone.....

suggested doing a factory reset and it didn't fix the problem then he suggested putting my SIM in a different phone and the problem continues in the other phone its the SIM if not i'm supposed to contact warranty which i was given the number

problem, kinda, is if it has to go back for warranty or replacement my phone is S-OFF rooted and has cyanogen mod 7 on it eeek

Yeah see i've tried that and the sms are fine with my old nokia, it's as soon as i started using the htc with gingerbread.

That's no problem, just run a stock ruu .exe for your phone, that will return it to s-on for warranty.

Prolly a noob question

There's a bunch of ruus can I use either Canadian one either the bell or sasktel??

Or what would tell me to use

Thanks for all your help Neo

...

No problem mate. Just got my phone back again, first message that was sent to it was delayed haha, looks like its going back to aussie warranty.

Hey Neo,

How bout that ay? Did you test to see if your phone is missing calls as well? When ever mine falls asleep it misses incomming calls. Be interesting if a reflash fixed that issue.

Goes to show that HTC seem to be handing the case off to another support department each and every time. Canadian phone doing the same thing as a Singapore model... Hmmm isolated to Singapore phone used in Aus, what rubbish! I'll blast HTC with that next time they ring for yet another survey.

@neo-x Ya during standby my phones missing calls too!!!

lol i just ran the .exe file from my desktop because i remembered there was bell bloatware on my phone which is one of the phone providers providing this phone so it worked! :) i'm adventurous hehehehe

i'm still s-off though kinda hard to find how to undo revolutionary on my phone

i actually found one of your old posts that suggested this method:

xda-developers - View Single Post - [Q] how to give back to S-ON ?

I'm going to see if the factory RUU will work......then i'll work on S-OFF more so if it doesn't fix

i'll keep you guys posted as to how i'm making out with warranty aswell :)

@brezey ya don't take that bs. if my canadian model, which i called htc canada and asked based on EMEI!, is doing the same thing it's not isolated!

Run the ruu, then follow those steps in that thread, it worked for me.

Yeah these guys are hopeless full stop. I don't think it's the warranty companies fault in a way. HTC should be doing something, it's clearly something wrong with the software.

Been having the same issues as everyone else (am in UK)

Just saw that the Droid Incredible 2 has got an update to 2.3.4 today. Seeing as they are so similar could we be seeing an update, and hopefully a fix, soon?

Read this for a laugh.

Their reply.

"Hi John,
As I said I only sent a few SMS and they went straight through, that was using Optus. Each network has there own data bank, every SMS that is sent goes through to the Mobile Tower first then to the Network Server Data Bank and then out to applicable number. There could be loads of reasons why you are receiving delays in your SMS, the tower in your area could be congested, they could be working on the tower most providers are now trying to upgrade their towers to 4g, they are not currently doing this on the Gold Coast and that is why there is no delay here. Unfortunatley SMS did not fault at all in the repair centre.
As mentioned to you on Friday HTC have said when they contacted me that there is an update coming out for your handset soon.
Regards
Debbie"

My reply.

"Debbie, I understand it didn't fault when you tested it, but you can understand where i am coming from aswell. While the phone was in your hands, i was using my Nokia for 2-3 weeks. Throughout those weeks, none of these problems existed, why all of sudden when i receive the HTC back these problems persist? Could you answer that? Surely in those 2-3 weeks, these so called towers would have become congested and i would have a delayed sms, but no i didn't. Also, on Friday when i spoke to another warranty assistant from your company, they said there were another 4-5 cases of the same problem, so surely it's not just me and my provider with this problem right? Regards"

What a joke this place is. Selling this phone asap, i have had enough.

@neo-x BOO YA! Right on!

i noticed after putting the stock RUU on things seem to be working better, i only get sms delays in my room in the basement but we'll see how it keeps on. I wonder if i'll be receiving this 2.3.4 update soon...ish

Step 3a.
3a. C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp

I don't AppData

@adtoes, it's a hidden folder, also make sure the ruu is still running in the background otherwise it will delete the temporary files.
