Solution fix 2.3.3 update sms delay

I bought HTC Incredible S about 4 months back (India) and promptly upgraded from 2.2 to 2.3.

Since then, am having delayed SMS and missed calls. Never thought this could be an issue of smartphone. Therefore have been constantly following up with Vodafone. They did everything from tagging to re-setting to changing the SIM and the problem remained as it is. They then advised to change the handset.

I bought another cheaper handset and the problem was immediately resolved. Having now conculded that the issue with my HTC Incredibel S phone, I tried to find updates. Currently my software data shows

OS 2.3.3
HTC Sense 2.1
Baseband version 20.2805.30.085AU_305.04.03.27_M
Build Number 2.12.720.5 CL 37872 release-keys
Software Number 2.12.720.5

I tried to update software and from my cellphone and it always return with "No software updates availble"

Going through this Android forum, I now release that this is a big issue with HTC and the Software data Numbers shows that my software data is older and not the latest one. So, I want to ask the HTC guys,
1)why doesn't my phone update itself automatically with the latest software and updates.
2) why has the fix not been sent to me though my cellphone connects to htc website almost daily through my wi-fi data usage
3) why has nobody from the htc bothered to send auto updates
4) WHAT DO I DO NOW? HOW DO I UPDATE when my phone says no updates available!!!!!!!!!!
5) Through this forumn I have tried ..4636..., but problem still persists.
6) Why is the HTC website not showing fix for this issue

HTC team mailed that 2.3.3 is the only OS and cannot be upgraded to 2.3.5. Then I Got instruction from htc to re-set my phone. did the re-set and now the problem has worsened. To my surprise, HTC Complain ticket is showing as "CLOSED" !!!!!!!

I've been using 2.3.5 for a few days now and the problem is fixed. I have not had any delayed SMS messages and calls appear to be better. I am happy I now have a working phone but still not impressed with HTC customer services as a whole.

After upgrade 2.3.5... the problem is solved !!!

I agree with you talking about HTC customer care service... but after all this I believe that is the worst service in the world !!!

I'll never buy another HTC phone, again...they tricked me once but not twice.

Bye mates

Also updated to 2.3.5 today, confirmed issue resolved.

Note that wikipedia states this update was released in July 2011, so it took 6 months to get to us..
