[SOLVED]GPS not working with Jeboo kernel

vosg

Android Expert
Thank you for reading my post.

I installed the new Jelly Bean on my phone and it worked great. But then I rooted it by flashing this kernel (jeboo_kernel_i9100_v1-2a.tar) and now my GPS is all messed up. Instead of seeing 7 or 8 sattelites, it has trouble even seeing just one. Hence I can't get a fix.

My firmware is I9100XWLS8_I9100XXLS8_I9100FOPLS3_HOME.tar.md5

My phone:

PDA: I9100XWLS8
Phone: I9100XXLS8
CSC: I9100FOPLS3

What's wrong here? Is there a better kernel?
Thanks in advance.

One of the things that I am pleased about with the JB release is the GPS, both in terms of lock and accuracy... around 2-3m in about 10-15 sec's.

I have not noticed any problems related to the Jeboo kernels I've used. However, you could try the latest release, v1.3, and see if that helps.

Also, see, "GPS lock & accuracy tip", as that has helped.

Thanks, I flashed the new version and that improved it a bit. I could get a fix though it took almost 15 minutes. Then I tried your suggestions in "GPS lock & accuracy tip", and updated AGPS, and now it's great! I now "see" six sats and it locks within seconds!

Thank you SO MUCH. This is at least the 3rd time you help me out. If you ever come to Antwerp, Belgium, contact me cause I'll pay you some beers. We have excellent beer over here:-)

Thanks again!!!!

Now that's what I call an offer!

I agree with you about Belgian beers... they've been responsible for my downfall on many occasions.

You haven't got a sister by any chance! ;)

Poor old ironass, surely you can find something with a pulse for him

Who said anything about a pulse?

Or perhaps any female mammal?

Et tu Brute! This from a man who, when asked to count his previous girlfriends, falls asleep!

(Sorry, that is an, "in", Welsh joke regarding their supposed predilection for all things ovine ;) )

I have an old horse, Betty. But no saddle. So I don't think she'll be interested in someone with an iron ass :-))

Actually, horses are the one thing I don't really need. Saddles I have though.

No sister... no female cousins. Why do I have to help the only person whose family tree is more of a shrub! :D

You'll have to excuse these two pun-tastic old men folks.
They are just not stable.
At least they are not Spurs fans.

Syd and Hawker... "they're off!", on a pun fight and have got, "the bit between their teeth". I think I should quit while the, "going is good". :ridinghorse:

Quite! You come on here and ask for some help. And all you get is this rubbish. Sorry old fella, at least you're problem is sorted.

:-)

Perhaps now hawker and ironass will stop this nonsense and this forum can return to its true function, ie a human on-line resource support environment

You certainly released yourself from your harness and entered a gallop in this thread Syd old boy, but sadly you didn't put much thought into grooming that acronym as far as equine terminology was concerned, and have almost become back on topic. :(

I'm trotting off now to have a nice waffle and maple stirrup.
:)

Omg, what have i done...

Thought I better get a start on explaining this for ya.....our beef products have been found to contain another animal.....

I was going to trot off but hawker piped me to the post

I don't know if there is a photo finish in sight :-(

woah now boys. time to stop, I'm off for some lasagneigh!!!!
