[Solved] Home button and waking up screen on 4.1.2

Did this problem started after you installed this custom ROM ?


Personally I am not a fan of custom ROMs, and I am almost always on a stock ROM.

On stock 4.1.2 XXLSJ, my Galaxy S2 wakes up with either Power or Home buttons.

Since you are on a custom ROM, it is possible that there is a setting somewhere in the menus: either in "Display Settings" or "Lock Screen".

You may find some setting like "Wake up on Home button", if there is any.

Ok I think I need to explain my issue abit clearer, so here's an eexample,

Say I'm in whatsapp and the screen blacks out, I wake it up by pressing the home key. Instead of showing me the whatsapp menu, i go back to the homescreen . Which I do not want since its a hassle.

This behavior is not present in checkrom v6 n cm9.

Thus what's bothering me is, is this behavior new to jb? Or somehow somewhere, a file was modified that caused this?

If you use the back button, it may solve your problem... or might not, depending on how the app was designed to refresh on reverting to a previous page.

In stock rom, the home button when activated when the screen is turned on, will by default - return to home screen. If you cannot find such feature in the custom android rom settings, then its best you talk to your rom developer as they may have dropped this feature or forgot to add it in their release, or its a bug which you have gotten used to from everyone else thats using the same rom as you.
 
The Home button on stock XXLSJ or NEAT ROM LSJ, will wake the phone up on the screen that you were on.

Certain other custom ROM's, such as Wanamalite, and mod's, will return you to the default Home screen when the Home key is used to wake the phone up. In this case you should use the Power key.
 
Alternatively, you could set to have a swipe lockscreen, and if you wake up the phone via home key, you will return to the last open screen after swiping.

Tried what you suggested hawker (BTW really nice wipe/nuke scripts there), but the behavior still persist.

I think I'm gona give neatrom lite a shot, see whether that fixes my issue.

In which case, possibly one of the mods/fixes I installed previously through the Neat thread on XDA has fixed the issue (possibly back-to-kill/volume rocker fix), or perhaps its launcher related. (I'm on Apex)

hMmm I see! Good to know!

Anyway guys just an update for anyone interested, NeatRom Lite does indeed solve this issue so I guess it's rom related.

Your problem could be related to 'Settings > Lock Screen > Lock Automatically' option.

Try setting it to 'Immediately', see whether that helps.

If not, I suggest starting your own thread detailing your exact problem(s), or checking with Neat's Dev regarding this.
