Root solved Recovery help this time!!!!

ok so ive spent the whole day studying how to root and all that crap got everything ready to go and im on the htc dev unlocking stage and working with cmd prompts...

How long do i wait for device?

i type in (fastboot oem get_identifier_token) and then it says waiting for device... ive rebooted phone and computer uninstalled sync... drivers are installed just cant figure out why it isnt working anybody got some ideas?
 
so i think that my computer isnt registering that the phone is there. i unplugged my phone then did the cmd prompt without it and it came up with the same message so im trying to figure out what i missed and why the computer isnt seeing the phone any help would be great! hope somebody is still awake!
 
Sounds to me like your PC does not have the HTC drivers installed correctly if it's not recognizing the phone. Did you download HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe and run it to install them, and did they install successfully? I would uninstall the HTC drivers and reinstall them. If you're on Windows 7, make sure you run the EXE as an administrator. (not sure it's required but always a good idea on Windows 7)

Also, I've read that HTCSync should be disabled while performing the unlock.
 
htc sync is uninstalled actually I've tried it both ways.... drivers are installed... I've installed and uninstaled them 20 times. yes it is in fastboot. its weird... will one of.you link the drivers in here? maybe somehow I have the wrong ones?
 
does my phone need to be in a certain USB mode when I pull the battery? (mass storage, charge only, etc.)
 
well apparently this last driver uninstall is waht i needed to do... i ran as administrator and my guess is that fixed the problem. Im unlocked now thanks for help guys and Scott keep up the amazing rom development!
 
ok now the recovery is beeing crazy... I installed amon ra, used scotts tool for using it. now when it goes i try to boot it into recovery it starts out with the little green android circle thing then gives me a red triangle. Any helpful ideas? sorry for beeein a noob.
 
everything is working properly now! I am rooted and running cleanrom 1.5! waiting for a solid version of ice to come out... I might flash Scotts ice just for kicks later but right now I like sense.
