Root [Solved] shut down animation?

any way to customize this beast?...i made the C into an O so that is now says metroPOS(tm) but it will not work...i've tried several different ways to do this...and still nothing works...
 
What are the "requirements" to do custom shutdown animations? Like with the boot animation (I plan on just manually replacing the bootanimation.zip) I read somewhere that the png files had to be a certain size(image size, not data size), same amount of files (at least I think this was said?). Does the same go for the shutdown animation? Seeing as there's only 2 .png files in our stock shutdown animation zip......lol Also, what about adding boot/shutdown sounds? I know some phones have them already and people just replace the sound file with their custom file. Ours however doesn't have boot/shutdown sound files. Anyway to go about adding these?

Its simple just place any bootanimation but rename it to shutdownanimation.zip in system/media and it should work simple as thay xD must be mpdi resolution to work

What about the number of frames? I could have SWORN (if I'm wrong, PLEASE correct me as I've been reading an assload of android pages the past week or so trying to soak up information. lol) that the number of frames had to match? Like if there's 26 png files in the stock animation than the custom animation also has to have 26 png files?

It can be an unlimited number of pngs :D
 
Sveeeeet! For those of you that have edited files and such. Do these instructions make sense? It LOOKS pretty straight forward, but I've learned the hard way about Murphy's Law

Also, is there any chance of bricking my phone with a wanky bootanimation file? Also, I wasn't going to worry about "absolute" (whatever app that is). I'm just going to do all the editing on my pc and then manually push the files over.
 
okay sorry for not paying attention to this..

i have tried multiple methods of making boot animations and switching them out for the shutdown....none of those methods have worked...

our boot animation and our shutdown animation are two different things...

I'm using an ubuntu animation that I got off xda it's a very small file like 250kb but it works
 
okay...yeah...but that is your boot animation right? not your SHUT DOWN animation...we're talking about the shutdown animation here...i want to try to make a custom one

all of a sudden it frickin works...i wll admit i have not tried since the D firmware..so it must be something with that....

Yea I was in the same boat then had some time on my hands tried again while on colab Rom and works....go figure right?
