Some beginner questions

Hey there,

I have some beginner questions:

1. When using ADW.launcher, do I have to deinstall the htc-sense or how do I force my desire to not run the htc-sense launcher on boot (->less battery comsumption)

2. When typing SMS, there are word-suggestions, but they often don't appear when typing in forms on the internet etc, WHY?

3. Is there any way to modify the delay for swapping between portait and landscape mode?

4. Where does my Desire save the WLAN-passwords to? I had to enter a password for the password-safe, but I don't know where to change that and where I need it!?

5. I'm using an unlock pattern, is there any way to not show the circles as help!?

1-No you dont.
When you press the home button you are prompted to select which launcher you want. You can tick " make this default" then select ADW launcher. You can reverse this in the applications options.


2- would also like to know

3- I guess this is where winmo shines, you could easily play with the registry to edit such stuff - maybe its possible. would also like to know

See above. I guess "use type-ahead" is a per-field design setting.

Nope, that's the time it takes for the accelerometers to detect the motion, the OS to inform the app, and the app to repaint.

"Home->Menu->Settings->Security->Credential storage". Don't know where exactly in the filesystem that translates to.

Disable "Home->Menu->Settings->Security->Use visible pattern". You may want to enable "Use tactile feedback", though.

About 2: So I can't do anything about it by using a certain app or such things? It's very annoying to have to type so precise :(

About 5: I mean the circles (there are 9 circles shown). Further: Is it possible to now show in red the pattern, when I wrongly entered it?

The most secure option is to not show what you're doing right, but you cannot prevent it from showing what you're doing wrong. This is the standard behaviour, and cannot be changed
