Damn it. I bought an Aegis Trident case but now I want that woodgrain case. :(

NM, that is a skin and not a case right? A woodgrain case would be sweet though.

I might just grab that stand though.

I wonder if there is a stand with speakers that plug in via the headphone jack that would work with the NC. Anyone seen anything like that?

Any speakers with proper plug should work. I have an Antec Lansing set with subwoofer (from old computer) that should sound great. :D

stand is nucking futs. GF has to have one now. Thanks damn it.

meanwhile, I love that wood skin, she hates it. So when I get my own someday, I might have to grab that.

Any benefit to rooting the NC? Real benefit?

If you haven't rooted, I can only assume you bought it to read books. How about installing Kindle app? Installing any app, not just B&N approved apps? :D

I'm really liking that CF skin!

I have this that I use for both my iPad and my Nook Color:

iHome iHM16 Portable Stereo Speaker System for iPad, iPod, any MP3 Player

Built-in speakers, uses the headphone jack.

It sits in there perfectly, I use it on my nightstand next to my bed. Only downside I've found with is so far is that it only runs on batteries. The sound isn't deep, but its pretty decent for the price.

AA batteries, 4 of them. I dont use it all the time so its not like this thing is eating thru batteries.

If you can find someone who knows how to use a soldering iron, it's an easy fix. :D

Best way would be to drill a hole and install a power jack so you can use AC or battery (or AC and rechargeable batteries). That would take someone who knows electrical wiring.

O/W you can cut the connector off a power brick, leave the batteries removed, and solder the wires directly to the battery contacts inside and use a knot in the cord/notch in the cover to keep it from pulling out. That's not quite as polished as the first one.

No soldering iron or soldering gene? You could use little screw-on INSULATED clips to attach the wires to the battery terminals, insulated so they don't short out. There are 4 battery terminals, but two on one end are connected to each other. The bump on the battery is the + end.

I would think a 6 vdc, 600 ma power supply should work for your use. If you don't have one laying around, you could find one on fleeBay.

Sorry, I searched for about 15 minutes yesterday and didn't see any obvious adapter that was shaped like a AA battery.

I ended up just buying some $11 Logitech speakers. It supplies it own power through a cord. Seems almost hard to find ones now that don't need to plug into a USB port.
