Root Some help with Apps, SD Card, etc. Any help greatly appreciated

I've currently got Directory Bind installed, however, it crashes sometimes (and nothing binded.)

The way the storage is formatted is it has SD Card, and External SD card.

When I try to use a program such as Link2SD it gives me an error saying insufficicent memory. I have a 32 gig memory card, and it's barely touched, however, my internal memory is getting slow.

Can someone tell me how I should go about moving my apps to my SD card, and so that it works? I'm assuming I'm going to have to directory bind the fake sd card (internal) to the real sd card(external).

Because it's basically taking internal apps, and moving them to the internal storage "fake" sd card.

Thanks for the help, this is a big problem, and I can't figure out how to fix it. Would partitioning my SD Card help?

I'm also got Rom Toolbox Pro, Busybox, Terminal, Scripter, Link2SD, and a bunch of other root tools.

well the only folder you really need to bind is the Android folder...you can also bind the Download folder and the DCIM, those will increase your storage..

if you have any Glu of Gameloft games go ahead and bind those as well...

make sure you select the folder you're binding and then click Menu > Bind Selected and then reboot

I plan on just binding the entire /sdcard/ folder to the /sdcard/external_sd/ folder (which is my 32gig sd card.

I'm trying to get this to work, but although I cannot get the app "directory bind" because it keeps saying "Invalid source path", and directory bind keeps crashing?

I don't know why they had to do it this way, and we couldn't just have /sdcard/ only like my last Samsung Admire had.

that won't work...you have to bind the individual folders one at a time...the whole directory won't work...i don't know how to explain it...

FWIW all I did when I got the Motion was part my 32Gib sdcard in CWM with my Admire and stick it in my Motion. Install link2sd and restored apps with TiBu. Been workin ever since and I've yet to see the annoying low memory message.

Damn, I was afraid of that.

My admire has a problem where it's soft bricked, and unable to root. Guess that will be what I have to work on next, and in the mean time just uninstall what I can but I think I still have gigs of internal?

Time to fix the admire, to fix the motion. Ugh, if only we had CWM on the motion

Hey I'm pretty sure your can partition the sdcard with a computer too

Sent from my typewriter.

So I'm pretty sure I just patition the SD card, then I can use Link2SD and have apps be able to be ran off one of the partitions on the SD card.

What format should I partition the SD card into? And should there be any special features to the partitions (primary, etc)

Also, the only available way I have to connect the SD card to computer is by having it in my Motion, and plugged into my computer, I don't have a microsd to usb converter.

Is it possible to do it this way? Or do I have to buy a convertor that lets me plug microsd cards into USB ports? (I'll probably buy one anyone).

You can use Gparted to partition the first part, the part your computer will see when pluggin in via USB, to fat32. Create the second part, which link2sd will use, as either fat32 or ext2/3. I personally use ext2 for the second part. I never had any luck with Windows tools for parting my sdcard. Some folks have had it work but I haven't. Not sure if the Windows apps write some crap header info that Android/Linux doesn't like or what. Gparted and CWM is what has worked flawless for me. There is a Windows port of Gparted. If you get another sdcard there should be an adapter comes with it. You just plug it in your multi slot. Hope you get on fine.
