Some help with new S4

Just bought a S4. Love the phone.

Phone is the SHV-E300S running 4.2.2 Exynos 5 Octa. Bought it in Korea with Olleh / KT.

Will I need to re-install all my apps ive downloaded from google play after I root and remove bloatware?

Also when I try to update the software it says "Failed to update software. Use SKT USIM card to update". Any idea what this is and how to fix it?

Also any tips or things I need to download or do to maximize battery life beside the obvious (brightness etc)

Thanks

1) Rooting doesn't change your apps. If you flash a new ROM you'll have to reinstall all of them.

2) There are many battery saver apps - I use 2X battery.

3) Condition the battery. Fully charge it. Run it without charging it until it shuts off. Do this 3 times. This doesn't give you more time per charge, but it'll make the battery last longer.

4) Buy a spare battery (good ones are pretty cheap.) Every month, switch the active one and the spare. Then, if you do run out of battery where you can't plug the phone in to charge it, y9ou t least have a fully charged battery to swap in.

I would just turn off any of the Samsung features you don't use, like the gesture motions and such. I haven't found the need to use any battery saving apps.
