You're right - after some use and some wiping off, it was perfect - I had just never experienced that before.

That is actually, I think anyway, the bootloader. Haven't figured out yet what more to do with that.

To get to recovery, you hold down volume-up and volume-down at the same time and power on. Then once you see the triangle, use the "home" soft button to toggle the menu, volume rocker to move in the menu, and the "back" soft key to select menu items.

Hmm. I've tried this but the phone simply boots normally when I hold down volume up and down. I never get a triangle glyph.

Here's how I do it, just double checked and it worked for me again. I put my thumb on the line separating vol-up and vol-down, push down and make sure I feel both depress, then push the power button. I keep vol-up/down depressed, but let go of power once I see the M. I keep vol-up/down depressed until I see the triangle.

No dice for me. I just boot straight into the OS. I'll keep trying.

Just pick up mine from BestBuy. :)
Radioshack and Target in my area (southern Indiana) hasn't received any shipments.

Anybody having activation problems?

I cannot activate my phone online or through the phone. I've been trying since 8pm yesterday to no avail. Are we not supposed to or something because we got the phones early? I should have let Best Buy activate it for me.

On the phone I get:

Service is not available

Error: 06-07-5910

Contact Virgin Mobile at your Service

1-888-322-1122
 
No luck for me either. Online didn't work, from the phone didn't work. Spoke to customer service and they claim they can't activate it till the 20th. Even went up to a Supervisor and he wouldn't help either. I thought the official launch was the 19th?

Sounds like they caught on last night and must have blacklisted the Triumph MEID's from being activated. Seems like everyone trying to activate today is having no luck. Too bad the first Best Buy I went to yesterday early afternoon didn't sell me the phone.

Just got off the phone with Virgin Mobile Customer Service...can't activate the phone until 7/20!!!
 
I did a "device swap" through their website (yesterday)... simply put in the new serial # and was off. Those of you that can't activate, are you new activations or already on Virgin and just switching?

I am a new activation coming from boost mobile ; I don't have a virgin mobile account.
 
Got it! Had a little trouble activating, but it worked out after doing it twice. Screen is nice and big, but I definately wouldn't want it any bigger. Operates as quick as iTouch, no lag AT ALL. But still have to download all my favorite apps and wall papers.

For those that can't wait for next week, I got it at a Radio Shack. I think most cashiers are oblivious to it's release date. I got the manager to sell me one, and I didn't have to haggle, I just asked for it. Today is probably the best day here in NY, becasue most Radio Shacks get next week's shipment today, Friday. Good Luck!
 
Best Buy here in So Fla (at least the store near me) does not have it in. I've gone two days in a row (just in case a shipment came in).

Bah.... I'm excited for those that have gotten their new toy to play with over the weekend! Unfortunately, I'm stuck waiting until my preorder ships, but what can u do....
 
VM customer service told me Bestbuy scanned the wrong barcode on the box so the phone isn't showing up as being sold.

On the bottom of the box there are many barcodes for different stores.
 
There was a little issue with the MIED Number......but the serial number on the sticker on back of phone is the the right one....it had more digits. i dont know why the one when you press ##6343# came up with the wrong number. None the less.....the gal on the phone said i was the first the activate the Triumph. yeah!!!!

So are you transferring a pre-existing virgin mobile account to this phone or are you a new activation with no previous virgin mobile account? Do you have to go back to Best Buy and have them rescan the bar code? What solution did they offer you?

Does it blink for notifications? Such as SMS? Is it only red? My Kyocera XTc had a red flashing when it was charging and when I had an SMS and solid green when it was done charging.
