Was able to buy the Triumph at a Radio Shack in South Florida (Fort Lauderdale - Federal Highway). The RS we went to did not have one and Manager check their System and it showed a nearby RS Store that had 2 in Stock. She drove over and return with the new Triumph. So, some RS Stores do have them. Was able to activate at the store without any problem. BTW, we initially brought the LG Optimus and decided to ask about the Triumph. So they had to switch phones on their system.

I tried to but the best buy mobile manager refused to exchange my phone and told me to try to activate the phone tomorrow at midnight so instead i returned it back for a full refund. Found the phone at radio shack next door and got a new phone and activation without any hassles/problems. I lost my 10% usps best buy discount but now I have a fully functional triumph and couldn't be happier. I will also say that my first triumph has a screen defect with a yellow spot under the screen about a couple inches directly above the return/back button and also and light leaking in between the bottom edge of glass and the phone frame directly under the android function buttons; this new phone doesn't have any of those defects :)
 
Someone said that there is a bunch of DPCIs for different stores. If you still have the box can you give them to us, then just go to whatever store is closest and ask for the item giving them the DPCI. Some stores(Target) can check other stores using it to.
 
seems there's been a few bad ones in the bunch,after reading post's over at HowardsForums,people have had to exchange for a new one.. and seam's to have better results.

so if you have one that has washed out looking colors,or unresponsive bottom buttons and screen,i suggest you exchange it,check it out in the store or parking lot and make sure it's to your liking before leaving.

just a thought.

how much was the triumph phone?
 
I went to Best Buy....waited a few minutes to talk to the people...I asked the lady if they had it, she was having a hard time searching in the computer. After 10 minutes of me begging her to just go look in the back, we both realized it was already hanging up for sale!! We both had a good laugh.
So far I LOVE it!!! Quite the upgrade from the intercept. The screen is sooo clear!!! I can't find the "My Files" thing, and I don't know how to install apps from the SD (It's saying there aren't any?) But other than that it's great.
All my apps from the amazon app store carried over! Stoked about that.

Looks like I might be making a trip to Best Buy tomorrow...
 
What I really need to know, is if the triumph CAN be used as a tethering device if you use quicksettings, or even PDAnet. I live in st.louis area and will be going to buy this, today, if I can still tether, I am using an OV right now.
 
I *think* it was on howardforums, some people said quick settings for tethering were giving them problems. Once the phone was rooted using Gingerbreak, there wasn't an issue with whichever app they used for tethering.

Anyone else having trouble senfing SMS messages? Handcent keeps spitting an error and fails to send a message. I finally got through to their tier 2 last night and he said that they hadn't been given much info on the Triumph yet and that there was almost nothing in their db... Also reinforced that they're not SUPPOSED to activate them until the 20th. So it came down to I wasn't sure if my SMS was failing because their system wasn't fully configured yet for the MT or something else but have decided to let it ride until Wed. (I also notice that with the MT I'm connecting to a tower to the ESE v. with the OV a tower due N (via Open Signal app).)

No trouble sending sms using stock message and google voice app
 
Just picked up mine from Radioshack , I had to call like 5 or 6. The only one I forgot to call was the closest one, the only one that had it. Oh well, so far I'm loving it.
 
Have any existing Virgin Mobile customers been able to swap their phones yet? I am still having issues switching my service from my Samsung Intercept to my new Motorola Triumph.

I bought mine on Friday (from a Best Buy on 14th st in nyc) and have spoken to VM customer service countless of times but I have still been unable to get any results.

I swapped via the website. Logged in, went to "switch devices" (or however it's worded, kinda near the bottom right of the screen), put in the serial # (starts with 268), and followed the instructions after that. Within 10 minutes it was switched... I had an Optimus V before.
 
I had a bit of an issue activating it, but that was only because my browser crapped out in the middle of trying to activate it. Nothing a quick call to customer service couldn't help, phone is activated now with no other issues.

Hey, when you called, did you just ask if they had the Triumph in stock? And they said yes?

Just making sure. I called a few stores around here and they all said they weren't in stock.

USPS (United States Postal Service) Change of Address Packet (not the single card); there are a bunch of loose coupons in there but as I recall the Best Buy coupon is actually one of those tear to detach from the actual form itself. Also, in my town, you have to ask the postal clerk at the counter to give you one.
 
I called 4 Best Buy's and 2 Radio Shack's but no luck. Guess I will have to wait until the 20th. However, one Best Buy said they were sold out and a Best Buy Mobile said "it doesn't go on sale until the Wednesday" so they might have them already but aren't selling them early. Hmmm...

IIRC they call it the "moving kit". They didn't have any out at the desk of my local branch so I had to ask at the desk, which is where it's looking that they're keeping them there now...

Try the BB Mobile. I think that they might be kiosk(or small stores) in malls that apparently only sell phones(I'd guess frm the name). I haven't been to a mall in a while(I despise malls) but several people mentioned finding them there in FL while they couldn't in the regular stores.
