Root Some Requests? :)

Okay this isnt so much a request for immediate consideration as much as it is for someone in their spare time (which I realize from personal experience may be next to non existent) can consider doing for the less programming savvy (like myself). Here are some things I hope in the later part of the year are revisited to someone (killing time...Cuz I hear this is how people who are crazy smart kill time, programing lol).

1. Some of us (me) would desperately like a CWM that is exactly the same (yall did a GREAT job) but has the *date and time* and hopefully the *rom name*. Clicking on random numbers/letters when you have six backups can be a little time consuming, especially if some are rooted and others are not and some are froyo and others gingerbread.

2. A froyo that has screen capture (none of the apps work) and reboot recovery options, and native tethering ability without using barnacle.

3. USB tethering natively also

But I know its a long shot. As the developers here understandably like moving forward and further development of froyo or a very stable clock work like we have already can be quite boring, but if ever you have free time feel free to tackle this for those who will never know how :D

I think some of the custom Froyo ROMS (U9000 for one) have native tethering & if you're rooted, pretty sure there are screenshot options. As far as the reboot menu, I've always just used Quick Boot (on Play market) & just make a shortcut on your home screen- it lets you shut down, reboot etc. (free version, pay version has more options).

Not really sure why the devs would put too much effort into other Froyo ROMs when we have a bunch of great ones already (Sharp, U9000, Froyocream Sandwich, etc.) and there is a chance we can put that energy into a fully functioning CM7/CM9 ROM.

My 2 cents'

I know CWR makes a folder using the date and time for the name when you do a nandroid backup. Even that you could change. As long as you don't change the name of the files within the folders.

As for the other parts, there aren't that many people who would want a FroYo freshly made ROM. GB has all of the features that FroYo has and more, beyond the improvements in memory management and power management. It would be like trying to make a better carburetor. Even the simplest fuel injection base design is better. (I know I'll get flamed on that one)

I'm not a Dev, so i can't help with 2 & 3, but as for #1, as someone else said. Access your SD card either by USB mode or with a file manager from the market, look for the ClockworkMod folder, there should be a "backup" folder inside it. In the backup folder just rename them to whatever you like.

To edit in file manager just long press on the file & a menu window will open & choose rename. This will open an edit window.
