Help something gone wrong

My daughter used my phone last night to make a call and now the way I used to end a call has changed... used to be just touch the red bar to end, now it makes u swipe to end a call and half the time it won't end the call... does anyone know how to get it back to how it was? HELP! This is very annoying... thanks in advance

It sounds like the phone is locking the screen despite being in a call. I wonder if this is related to the proximity sensor. Has she added a screen protector? Is the screen dirty? Particularly at the top edge?
