Help Something has happened/changed with how the phone does things. USB debugging.

HTC Desire
2.1 - update 1
Not rooted.
Telstra
(Still under warranty)

Ok, I have tried - and failed - to update to 2.2.

That's another story.

Before, I would plug the phone in to the computer - USB - and select Internet sharing. No worries. No other messages, no other stuff. Just what I said.

Now, when I plug the phone into the USB cable, it asks me what to do, but I get a "warning" about USB DEBUGGING IS ACTIVE and the SMS messge tone is played.

I don't know if this came about because I was trying to have/get the phone updated, becuase I was using (or make that TRYING to use) HTC Sync to backup my data to the computer, or what.....?

It isn't a big deal, but I am wondering what has changed to make it do that when it didn't used to.

Any ideas?

I think USB debugging has to be active to sync the phone.
Because it's not as secure as normal you get a warning, but you can disable USB debugging and that'll get rid of the message.
Just have to turn it back on again when you want to sync again.

I run with USB debugging on all the time and no problems (I loaded a custom ROM that allows me to hide the warning :) )
