Help Something keeping S2 awake, draining battery

I've orange branded Galaxy S2 (not rooted yet).

Something is keeping it awake, which I think is draining battery.

I keep office email receiving active till 11AM. Then I don't use phone much during the day. For ex. yesterday I didn't even switched it on during the day. And yet, by 7PM battery was down to 40%.

Earlier I had noticed yahoo mail to be battery drainer. I've already removed it, so not sure what else could be the problem.

Any suggestions on what might this be?

I have gmail & gtalk running. But that can't be keeping phone awake without screen being on, can it?

I mean, what's the point of having an android phone if I can't keep gtalk and gmail sync active??

Any help/suggestions?!

Installing an application called Better Batter Stats will give you an indication as to what application(s)/processes are causing the drain

Thanks for the suggestion Hawker. For the time being I installed a similar free app (Badass battery monitor), and with that I found a few interesting things.

Kernel is using around 60% of power (well, not that useful).

Calendar was consuming significant "View Time Held Awake". I've switched off a corporate calendar & wife's calendar (who updates it regularly). Let me see if that makes any difference. But to me, a calendar sync update shouldn't keep phone awake. It might make phone alive, do the sync and go back to sleep.

Next big entry in "View Time Held Awake" is Maps. I have latitude on, so that might be the reason. I might switch it off to see what difference it makes. But I really want to keep this one on, so that I can be tracked & it can be useful in the event of a loss/theft.

I've switched wife's calendar back on, and that doesn't seem to be a problem. May be corporate calendar was a problem. I don't need it anyway, so have kept it switched off.

Latitude/Maps seems to be making lots of awake calls & consume lots of phone awake time. Signing out of latitude helped. But that shouldn't be the solution.

With signed out from latitude, I did 100% to 11% in about 33 hours, 100% to 40% in about 28 hours. With latitude on, it usually goes from 100% to 40% in about 15 hours. That's a huge difference. Not sure if I'm missing something else.
