Help Something strange going on here.

I'll try to make this brief. My alarm failed to go off this morning, so I thought great, the broken clock bug is back. Turns out, not so much.

I unplugged the phone and tried to turn it on. No luck, but the green led indicator stayed lit.

Time for a battery pull. Phone still wouldn't turn on, but I was able to get to the h-boot menu.

Tried the restore option, but got stuck on the triangle with red exclamation point. Phone wouldn't turn off, so pulled the battery again.

Went back into h-boot and factory reset. This worked, and I wad able to get the phone up and running.

Now for the weird part. While the reset worked, it didn't completely wipe the phone. All my apps were gone, but my wallpaper and WiFi settings were there. I didn't have to enter the password for my home network to get it to work, and all my saved networks are there. Also, all my alarms for the clock are intact.

Any ideas on why this would be? For the record, I'm not rooted, and running the latest version of g.b.

Thanks in advance,
Cmybliss

I've installed ROMs with a complete wipe and had my wallpaper come back. Very strange.

Could it have something to do with the Google account settings having it up? Wonder what would happen if you deleted the img after wiping but before buying the new ROM?

Well the wall paper and wireless thing is tied to the google account. When your setting up your phone for the first time there is an option to keep the phone backed up with your google account and that will happen.

Now about the phone stop working all of a sudden not a clue that is a new one for me.

Hmmmm. I've had to factory reset multiple phones more times than I care to remember. (3 times in 3 days for my original Inc during the gingerbread debacle). I've never retained all my personal settings. Phone numbers, yes. Calendar, yes. But never my WiFi passwords or clock alarms. It would be interesting to see what happens after factory resetting and set up with different gmail. But so not going there right now!
Not a huge deal really, the phone seems to be working fine a.t.m. Just thought it was really weird.

Thanks for your thoughts guys!

My phone/tower configuration is REALLY picky. Radio problems from a test ROM carry over to my nandroid. There are things that are not being erased by a full wipe. My tinfoil hat is not working!
